Project adds new LED lights for Milan's Wilson Park

The city of Milan is pleased to announce the completion of a lighting project in Wilson Park.

Three new LED lights have been added to the parking lot led lights from china, and the one existing light has been upgraded. “I have listened to the concerns of residents about the safety and security of our parks over the last several years,” stated Mayor Michael Armitage in a press release.

“I appreciate the support of the city council to approve this project LED outdoor flood lightbulb. It completely changes the atmosphere of the parking lot after dark and will create a safer environment for all.”

Chief Scherlinck also supported the project: “These additions are a positive in terms of enhancing safety and security in the park. The placement of effective lighting in the park will greatly assist our officers during their patrols. The lighting in and of itself will definitely deter potential problems.” Interim Parks and Recreation Director Ellen Bell also identified the benefit of the 31W LED Panel Light, “They will be a great asset to the park. As people are leave from movies in the park, soccer games and other night events this will help them get to the cars.”

“We want people to feel safe in our community, especially in our parks,” says Armitage. “This is another example of proactive measures that the city is taking to increase safety and improve the quality of life in our community.”

The city paid approximately $8,000 for this project.
